Patients with Additional Requirements

Accessible Practice

We want to enable access to orthodontic care and treatment for all patients.

Disabled Access

Our practice is accessible and we have a disabled parking bay for your use.

Visual Impairments

We can provide leaflets in large print versions

Hearing Loss

We have a hearing loop at our main surgery reception desk to aid patients with hearing aids or cochlear implants.

Neurodivergent Patients

Receiving orthodontic care can be challenging for some neurodivergent patients; being in new places, meeting new people and having treatment can be overwhelming.

Here’s some things we can do to help

  • Please call us if your child would like a tour of the practice prior to their appointment.  We will be happy to arrange this for you.
  • Please watch our short video “A walking Tour of the Practice”
  • Busy waiting rooms can be noisy.  If you child prefers to wait in the car, we can call you when we are ready for you to come in for your appointment.
  • If your child prefers less noise, we can turn off our radio.  Please speak to our reception team.
  • We can use typodonts (models of the mouth and teeth) to help explain the treatment and types of braces available.
  • Children are encouraged to bring headphones fidget spinners or stress balls to their appointments
  • If you or your child is photosensitive, we are happy for you to wear your own glasses

We are aware your child is an individual with their own needs and preferences.  If we can support them and make their appointments more comfortable, please let us know how we can help by completing the medical history form that will be sent to you prior to your child’s first appointment.
