What is Invisalign® Treatment

Fixed braces for Adults
Fixed braces are a tried and trusted treatment for all ages. At Overleigh Orthodontics, we offer both traditional metal and discreet ceramic braces. We can customise your treatment to your precise smile needs and goals. As the appliance cannot be removed, it acts full-time, so it is very effective.
Ceramic Braces
Extremely versatile and less noticeable than metal braces, these are made up of ceramic brackets and a metal or white coated wire, and are fitted to the surface of the teeth. They are ideal for those who prefer discrete fixed braces.
Metal Braces
Modern brackets are relatively small, making braces more attractive than they used to be. With this type of brace there is no plastic in the roof of the mouth. Fixed braces are very good at achieving fine detail, and making the smile look its best.
What are Retainers?
Retainers are used after you have had your teeth straightened to ensure that they remain in their new position. It’s essential that retainers are worn as recommended by your orthodontist, to ensure you continue to enjoy your new, straighter smile.

If a retainer no longer feels snug, please contact us as soon as possible for a replacement to be made. Unfortunately, there is a charge for replacement retainers.

Pola for Aligners 10% is a professional-grade whitening gel specifically formulated for use with clear aligners and retainers. The gentle 10% carbamide peroxide formula delivers noticeable results with reduced sensitivity, while keeping your trays crystal clear.
Using Pola Aligners 10% is simple and fits seamlessly into your aligner-wearing routine:
Start with clean aligners or retainers – Rinse and dry your trays before application.
Apply a small amount of gel – Place a thin, even layer inside the trays. A little goes a long way!
Wear as directed – Typically, you can wear it for a few hours or overnight for best results.
Rinse and clean after use – Remove your aligners, rinse your mouth, and gently clean your trays before putting them back in.
Enjoy a whiter smile! – Regular use will gradually brighten your teeth without any damage to your aligners.
Protect your smile with a custom sports mouthguard
If you play contact sports, it’s important to get a custom sports mouthguard to wear after treatment.
We also have self-fit mouthguards made specifically for people with fixed upper and lower braces. You can mould these gum shields at home using hot water. Please ask at reception for more information.
